Kanav Elite: made to outlast the field

Boron steel, our own heat treatment and a twisted L-shape. Here is what that does in the field, and how we check it before a blade leaves the plant.

1.7×

longer blade life than a standard non-boron L-blade

Boron steel, Kanav heat treatment and a twisted shape

Published result · blade life

Up to 150+ acres from one set of blades

In field use, Kanav Elite blades worked upwards of 150 acres before they needed replacing. Standard non-boron L-blades lasted 50 to 70 acres. The difference is the steel and the way we heat-treat it.

Why it lasts

A shape built to last

Difference in shape

A twisted L-blade with a wide edge, on every Kanav Elite.

Kanav Elite L-blade, side view showing the wide edge
  1. 1Twisted bladeThe blade turns along its length, so the edge meets the soil at an angle and slices through it instead of hitting it flat.
  2. 2Wide cutting edgeExtra steel sits at the tip, where the soil wears it fastest, so the blade keeps its width and cut for longer.

What the twist does

How the shape adds life and strength.

  • Cuts with less forceSlicing takes less effort than pushing, so the tractor pulls easier and the blade face wears more slowly.
  • Takes the shock graduallyThe edge enters the soil a little at a time, so stones and hard ground hit it with less force. Less bending, fewer breaks.
  • Stiffer by shapeLike a folded sheet, a twisted, curved blade is stiffer than a flat one, so it holds its shape under load.

Less wear and fewer breaks: that is where the extra acres come from.

What it means for the farmer

Longer life, lower cost

  • Fewer blade changes

More acres from every set, so the rotor is stripped less often.

  • Lower cost per acre

One set of blades covers more ground before you buy again.

  • Less downtime

Fewer stops in the short sowing window.

  • Made for hard ground

Hardened boron steel for dry, heavy and stony fields.

Tested in our plant

Checked before it ships, measured in the field

  • Hardness

Checked on every lot after heat treatment.

  • Dimensions

Hole pattern, width and thickness against the drawing.

  • Field wear

Blades run in real soil to measure acres before replacement.
